Rare pieces of memorabilia from two of the National Basketball Association’s biggest icons are hitting the auction block and are expected to sell for a combined $20 million.

Sotheby’s announced on Thursday that it is putting up for auction Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant rookie jerseys that were worn during each of their first NBA games.

“The historical weight of these two jerseys is difficult to overstate. They are as rare as they come,” said Brahm Wachter, Sotheby’s head of modern collectables, in a statement.

Gap in money led to Bruins trading Brad Marchand to Panthers

The Boston Bruins put a three-year deal on the table for Brad Marchand in February, but the sides had different perspectives on money, sources told ESPN on Saturday.

That gap led the Bruins to trade their captain, who would have been an unrestricted free agent in July, to the Florida Panthers on Friday for a conditional second-round pick. It would become a first-round pick if Marchand appears in 50% of the Panthers' playoff games in the first two rounds.

Initially, two years was a sticking point in the Marchand negotiations, but Bruins management went to ownership and got the approval to offer a three-year deal.

Minnesota High School Hockey Game Attracted More Fans Than Every NHL Game

On Saturday night, there were ten NHL games that were played. In Minnesota, the Boys High School Hockey State Tournament was also wrapping up.

Out of the 10 NHL games that were played last night, not a single one had a higher attendance than Minnesota’s Class AA State Championship game.

20,491 gathered to watch Moorhead beat Stillwater 7-6. Te average attendance for NHL games this season is 17,448.

2 Teams to Play in Minor Leage Stadiums This Season

The A's quest to secure a new stadium in the Bay Area repeatedly ended in failure. They eventually gave up and pivoted their attention to Las Vegas, where they plan to move for the 2028 season.

While the destruction of Tropicana Field's roof in October by Hurricane Milton forced the Rays to seek refuge for 2025 at a minor league stadium across the bay in Tampa, Florida, many of the same issues - chief among them a relationship with local politicians drowned by distrust - have left the Rays with a deal for a new stadium they could abandon any day and a future defined by its uncertainty.

NFL Announced 2025 Salary Caps

The NFL and NFLPA have agreed to a 2025 salary cap of $279.2 million per club.

The $279.2 million cap number represents a $23.8 million increase from last year's $255.4 million figure and is the latest record high.

The escalation of the cap represents more than $100 million than what it sat at in 2018 ($177 million) and nearly $200 million more than it was in 2005 ($85.5 million). Only a brief COVID-induced downtick in 2021 has been able to slow the rise.
