Ichiro, who was elected to the hall in Cooperstown, New York, with 99.7% of the vote, addressed the journalist during a news conference on his election Thursday, extending a friendly invitation. So far, the identity of the writer is unknown.
Prediction Market Kalshi Launches Sports Betting
Kalshi, the prediction-market startup that allows its users to bet on elections, news and popular culture, has entered the realm of sport betting with a contract on which team will win next month’s Super Bowl.
The move blurs the boundaries between financial trading and sports betting. Kalshi is regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, which has traditionally resisted allowing exchanges to list contracts on athletic competitions. Kalshi’s move comes just days after the inauguration of President Trump ushered in a new era of light-touch financial regulation in Washington.
