NBA, Cavaliers to address elevated court after Luka Doncic injury scare
Following the Luka Doncic injury incident, the NBA is set to meet with the Cleveland Cavaliers to discuss potential changes in the elevated court, sources told Joe Vardon of The Athletic.
Both sides reportedly met already on Thursday, in which discussions were "taken up mutually."
With less than eight minutes in the first quarter of the Lakers' 129-99 Wednesday loss against the Cavs, Doncic backpedalled after he pulled a three-point shot. But he accidentally fell during the process from the Cavaliers' court.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander reasserts his place at top of MVP Ladder
Gilgeous-Alexander has steered a team that played a chunk of the season without Jalen Williams and a few weeks without Isaiah Hartenstein, both because of injuries, and yet the Thunder, aside from a brief hiccup, hasn’t missed a beat under his direction. OKC is still tops in the West, and Gilgeous-Alexander tops on the Ladder.
He routinely gets 30 points a night, often without playing fourth quarters, and brings almost the same energy on the defensive end. The consistency and efficiency go hand-in-hand and at a high level, which explains why Gilgeous-Alexander is a master at his craft.

Kane passes Modano to become all-time leading U.S.-born scorer

On Thursday, Detroit Red Wings forward Patrick Kane became the all-time leading scorer among American-born players, reaching 1,375 career points. He surpassed the long-standing record held by Mike Modano during a game against the Washington Capitals with an assist on a Ben Chiarot goal.
Now in his 19th NHL season, the 37-year-old Buffalo native has amassed 500 goals and 875 assists across 1,342 games. Kane's legendary career is highlighted by three Stanley Cups with the Chicago Blackhawks and multiple individual honors, including the Hart Trophy as league MVP.
Despite the milestone, the humble superstar noted that he never set out to break records and was simply focused on playing the game.

Bill Belichick Does Not Get Voted to Hall of Fame

Bill Belichick, the eight-time Super Bowl-winning coach, is not a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
In voting earlier this month, Belichick fell short of the 40 out of 50 votes needed for induction to the Pro Football Hall of Fame during his first year of eligibility, four sources with firsthand knowledge of the outcome told ESPN. Belichick received a call from a Hall representative Friday afternoon with the news that he won't be inducted in Canton, Ohio, this summer.
Why OC Mike McDaniel Chose the Chargers Over Head Coaching Opportunities

Officially introduced as the team's new Offensive Coordinator, he praised the organization's hunger for winning and its "like-minded" football culture.
McDaniel was particularly drawn to the chance to work with quarterback Justin Herbert and respected the franchise's historic passing legacy. He noted that his connection with Head Coach Jim Harbaugh was instant and authentic, describing their meeting as a genuine conversation rather than a sales pitch.
Beyond football, he emphasized that the move was a perfect fit for his family and their next chapter in Southern California. Ultimately, McDaniel believes Harbaugh’s leadership will help him grow both professionally and personally.
