Bulls stun Lakers with Josh Giddey halfcourt buzzer-beater
On a night where the Sweet 16 captured the basketball universe, the Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls may have outdone even the wildest March Madness finish you could ever imagine. The Bulls won, 119-117, but it would be impossible to guess how they got there.
At least four shots appeared to be game-winners, only to be upstaged by the next hero. It's worth breaking down the game's final 30 seconds, which were absolutely bonkers.

Coach John Tortorella fired by Flyers

John Tortorella was fired as coach of the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday, marking what general manager Daniel Briere called "rock bottom" in the team's rebuilding effort.
The Flyers (29-36-9), who lost their final six games under Tortorella (0-5-1), are one point ahead of the Buffalo Sabres for last in the Eastern Conference. The Flyers play the Sabres on Saturday.
Tortorella won the Stanley Cup with the Lightning in 2004 and is a two-time winner of the Jack Adams Award as the NHL's coach of the year (2004, 2017).
At 66 years old, he was the oldest active coach in the NHL.
Sidney Crosby breaks Wayne Gretzky’s NHL record

Sidney Crosby's first-period goal against the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday secured the 20th point-per-game season for the Pittsburgh Penguins captain, breaking a tie with Wayne Gretzky.
The goal also clinched Crosby's 14th 80-point season since entering the NHL during the 2005-06 season, putting him three behind Gretzky for that record.
Among all active NHL players, Crosby is ninth in points with 1,676 and his goal was the 26th of the season and the 618th of his career.

At 464 pounds, Florida’s Desmond Watson could become the heaviest draft pick in NFL history

The 6-foot-6, 464-pound pro prospect somehow slipped past team personnel and media members following his workout in front of NFL scouts Thursday.
Watson’s teammates and coaches spoke on his behalf, all of them raving about the numbers he put up while trying to convince someone to make him the heaviest draft pick in NFL history next month.
“He moves way better than anybody thought he would at his size,” fellow defensive tackle Joey Slackman said. “I don’t see why a team wouldn’t give him a chance. He’s a football player through and through; I would want that guy on my team.”
