NBA cancels Atlanta Hawks' Magic City night amid criticism

The NBA announced on Monday that it has canceled the Atlanta Hawks' planned promotional event with a famed Atlanta nightclub.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said the decision was made after significant concerns were raised by fans, league partners, and employees about "Magic City Monday," a tribute to Magic City, which the Hawks described as a cultural institution.

The Atlanta Hawks responded to Commissioner Silver's statement, saying that, despite their disappointment, they respect the decision to cancel.

Bam Adebayo's sets history with 83-point game, some aren’t happy

Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo's historic 83-point night against the Washington Wizards on Tuesday presented fans with a choice that forces a side: Celebrate it, or audit it.

There was no question what was happening in Miami. The Heat franchise, which is part old guard and part paramilitary operation, was firmly on the side of celebration.

After Adebayo scored 31 in the first quarter and 43 in the first half, Spoelstra instructed his players to see if they could get their team captain as many points as possible. They did everything possible to feature him and help him.

‘It’s Not a Penalty’: Bednar Rips Officials For MacKinnon Ejection

With the Avs on the power play trailing 2-1, MacKinnon entered the Oilers’ zone with speed and received an east-to-west pass from Brock Nelson. MacKinnon’s shot went wide, but with little space to maneuver because Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse was cutting in on him, MacKinnon barreled into goalie Connor Ingram and was handed a five-minute major and a game misconduct.

Italy stuns the US 8-6 in World Baseball Classic

Team USA came into Tuesday’s game against Italy in the driver’s seat in pool play, as one would expect. And then they drove straight into the ditch.

Team USA found itself trailing Italy by eight runs before it mounted a furious late-inning comeback to lose 8-6. Team USA still has a very clear path out of the first round, but it is completely out of its control.

If Mexico wins while scoring four or fewer runs, Team USA will not advance.

Falcons Release QB Kirk Cousins

The Falcons have released Kirk Cousins, making him a free agent after two seasons with the club.

The club still has Penix and is set to add Tua Tagovailoa, who is expected to take the bulk of the offseason reps with Penix still rehabbing.

Cousins could be an intriguing option for a team looking for a bridge quarterback this offseason. The Falcons owe Cousins $10 million for 2026, which means Cousins could be had on an affordable deal — though not the kind of veterans’ minimum salary that Kyler Murray is likely to get on the open market.

Daniel Jones Gets $88 Million in 2 Year Deal

The Colts and Daniel Jones have agreed to a two-year, $88 million deal that keeps him in Indianapolis and takes him off of the transition tag, CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones confirmed. The deal also includes a host of incentives, with a max value of $100 million.

After the Giants released him midway through the 2025 season, Jones landed on the Vikings' practice squad. It looked like the former first-round pick, who signed a four-year, $160 million deal in New York just two years earlier, would not have a bright career.
