Why the 2025 Colorado Rockies are every bookmaker's nightmare
ESPN BET reports that Colorado has attracted the least moneyline bets of any MLB team this season, while the team playing against the Rockies are a top-three most-bet team on almost any given day. For Colorado's most recent series with the Philadelphia Phillies, the visiting Phillies were the sportsbook's most-backed MLB team of the day in three of those four games and the second-most backed in the other.
"We need the Rockies on a daily basis," Caesars Sportsbook lead MLB trader Eric Biggio told ESPN. "Especially if they're in a standalone spot where there's not much other stuff going on, we have to really push the price out to a good level to get any kind of money on the Rockies."
Cruz's annihilates 122.9 mph HR, hardest-hit ball in Statcast Era
Oneil Cruz hit a ball so hard on Sunday it broke his own record in the blink of an eye. The Pirates outfielder absolutely crushed a solo home run with a 122.9 mph exit velocity to lead off the third inning against the Brewers at PNC Park.
The scalding drive broke the MLB record for the hardest-hit batted ball in the Statcast era (since 2015), which Cruz set on a 122.4 mph single on Aug. 24, 2022. The previous record for the hardest-hit home run was 121.7 mph by Giancarlo Stanton on Aug. 9, 2018.
The home run was Cruz's 11th of the season, and it came off a Logan Henderson fastball that reached only 92.2 mph. It soared 432 feet down the right-field line and landed in the Allegheny River.

NFLās Tush Push Was Almost Banned

On Wednesday, a proposed ban of the play ā in which players line up behind the quarterback to provide a push on an unstoppable sneak ā failed to receive the 24 needed votes at the NFLās owners meeting. According to ESPN, 22 teams voted to ban the tactical battering ram, while 10 teams opposed the proposal.
Last month, the NFL tabled discussions on the Packersā original pitch, which sought specifically to stuff the tush push. After ESPNās Kalyn Kahler reported that Aprilās vote was split 16-16, the Packers produced a revised proposal this week that prohibited pushing or pulling a ball carrier anywhere on the field.
The cited concerns were ā seriously ā player safety and pace of play.
