Rangers Fans Enraged After GM’s Contract Extension

Following the news that Rangers general manager Chris Drury signed a multi-year contract extension to remain in the role, upset fans took to social media to voice their displeasure, especially after a season that saw the Rangers miss the postseason with a 39-36-7 record.
While fans don’t seem overly enthusiastic, Drury has presided over a Presidents’ Trophy-winning campaign during the 2023-24 season that also saw the Rangers reach the Eastern Conference final.
“I am pleased that Chris will continue to lead the Rangers hockey operations in his role as President and General Manager. Over his tenure, Chris has shown passion for the Rangers, relentless work ethic, and a tireless pursuit of excellence. While we are all disappointed in what transpired this past season, I am confident in his ability to guide this organization to success.”
